Offensive Security Taster

Price: £3,000 to £7,500 per engagement

Security testing may seem like a costly service, and one whose benefit is intangible. Organisations seeking to cut costs may see testing their security as an optional expense worth avoiding. Offensive security engagements may feel intimidatingly complex and open-ended. Our Offensive Security Taster is designed to help alleviate these concerns. It is a small, scope-capped, bounded-fee engagement that lets you experience what working with us is actually like - a real assessment producing real findings, not a sales meeting wearing the costume of one.

A Scout Ahead

You would not commission an in-depth building inspection without someone first walking the property to see what they can find with a glance. Our Security Taster is that walk. We take a short, focused look at the parts of your estate an opportunistic attacker might reach first. We look at what services you expose to the internet, check for obvious misconfigurations, and assess the low-hanging fruit that automated attacks target at scale. Our Security Taster includes a discussion with your team about the architecture of your systems, non-intrusive enumeration of public-facing systems, and limited offensive testing of whatever attack surface you nominate.

Honest About Its Limits

We are equally clear about what the Taster is not. It runs over a handful of days, not weeks, and it does not scan every host, realistically exploit what it finds, or stand in for a full penetration test. Its purpose is narrower and more useful at this stage: to give you an honest, defensible sense of where you stand, and whether the gaps are routine housekeeping or something that warrants a proper engagement. Where a finding deserves deeper investigation, we say so and explain what a fuller assessment would entail. The Taster is designed to be the smallest sensible first step, and we have priced and structured it accordingly.

Who It Suits

The Taster is built for organisations that suspect they have gaps but cannot yet justify a larger security test, or for any team that simply wants to experience working with us before committing to something larger. Because it is non-intrusive and light on prerequisites, it runs with little or no disruption to your day-to-day operations, and involves only a few days of our attention rather than a project that pulls your own people away from their work. Our report retains technical depth but is aimed at an audience without a security background, to empower leadership to act on findings directly wherever possible. For an organisation that has been meaning to take security seriously but never knew where to begin, the Taster turns an intimidating, open-ended worry into a concrete piece of work with a clear answer at the end of it.
